Welcome to day 23 of Healthista’s 30 Day Yoga Challenge, with leading London yoga teacher, Sarah Malcolm (@sarahmalcs), where you learn in detail a different pose or aspect of yoga every day.

If you’re just joining us, click here to go to day one and see below for links to the other days in the series.  Today’s in-depth pose is the bow pose, known in Sanskrit as Dhanurasana.

Today’s yoga pose in Healthista’s 30 day yoga challenge with Sarah Malcolm is bow pose.

Bow pose is the next step in this sequence, going off of day 22s locust pose. This pose has this name because when done properly, the body should resemble an archer’s bow.

Sarah recommends doing a couple of sun salutations or cat-cow poses before embarking on bow pose so we can prep the spine properly.

Make sure to take your time with this pose to keep your spine in proper position, saving it from any damage.
