Rosie Stockley

Women's Fitness Specialist

Rosie Stockley founded MAMAWELL to provide women with education and insight into their bodies in the pre and postpartum period (and beyond), and the benefits that exercise can bring, both for strength and energy – mentally & physically.

She runs classes, workshops & has online fitness programmes for both pregnancy and postpartum: The MAMAWELL Method. Her community on Instagram @mamawelluk are engaged daily – whether in live workouts, well researched information, or conversation.

Rosie is well known for her holistic and intelligent approach to training the body, and the individual needs of each woman.

She writes extensively, speaks and sits on panels highlighting the importance of fitness for mental health, the benefits of being strong throughout pregnancy and thereafter, and how to find balance and energy in our busy, multi-faceted roles as women.

Rosie is respected for providing quality information, from her professional experience, whether this is on fitness, wellness, pregnancy, postpartum or motherhood.

Rosie is a mother to Charlotte and baby Stella. Her motherhood experiences add to her approachable appeal for women wanting to be inspired to be strong, healthy and energised throughout this time.

The MAMAWELL Method is two programmes designed specifically for women who are pregnant or postnatal. It focuses on improving energy, strength and fitness whilst ensuring women feel safe and supported through their workouts.

Convenient to access at home, with lots of extra content and advice – it’s an essential resource for anyone in the motherhood time of life.

Q&A's

What does being healthy mean to you?

Healthy to me means knowing the things that work for you, whether that is types of movement, rest, foods and also knowing the things that aren’t serving you so well, for example, certain people, emotional triggers or negative experiences with exercise – and then finding the BALANCE.

It’s very empowering knowing that you’re making your life work for YOU and not letting it be run by outside influences.

I always advise people to do the exercise that you really love – and it doesn’t have to the same things at all life stages, or even every week!

It might be running, yoga, HIIT or long walks – but as long as it’s serving your goals and needs and you’re enjoying it, then it’s the right one for you. And you’ll probably be way more motivated to keep going too!

Get out for a walk! If I can do it alone, even better! Otherwise I’m out with my kids, breathing deeply and getting some good air into my lungs.

I try to bring the positive attitude, the motivation and the understanding that life can definitely get in the way of our best exercise intentions!

I will find ways for you to get ‘snacks’ of exercise throughout the day, even if you only have 5 minutes away from your desk.

I always try to give evidence based advice, no fads or quick fixes – instead I focus on a vairty of ways both mental and physical that can help you optimise your busy, multifaceted life as women

I love a falafel wrap! So I might buy high quality store falafels if I don’t have time to make own (especially as this is a 10min recipe!)

You want a wholegrain wrap which you can warm in a frying pan with no oil. Lay some lettuce on it, some tomatoes and cucumber, hummus and then the falafels. I love to add roasted red peppers which I have in my fridge in a jar! Also some chilli eg harissa paste is delicious with the hummus. Wrap it up and enjoy!

I don’t think there are quick fixes – but I do love some HIIT circuits or sprints for a quick blast. Or a 10 minutes wind down flow and stretch can sometimes be way more needed than anything else!
