Q&A's

What does being healthy mean to you?

Trying to have some balance in my everyday life has been something in my 40’s I have had to pay more attention to. I remember an amazing yoga teacher Leela Miller saying to me years ago ‘you will not be able to go at this speed forever’ and she was right.

Now I try to eat well, take supplements that work for me (Dr Sabine Donnai recommends them after doing impressive vigorous testing) and prioritising quiet time. There is so much external noise in our lives it’s important to be able to rest our minds and emotions.

Eating well, moving, and having regular massages really helps me stay on track and feel good.

I think women are especially hard on themselves to do everything and ensure everyone’s needs are taken care of. So, to be easier on themselves – it’s simple but changes how we think about things.

Find a way to move that works for you whether it’s Yoga, Pilates, running and do it regularly so you can feel the ongoing benefits. Finding a workout that is not a chore is key to keeping it up.

If we do something good and we can feel the benefits, it inspires us to do it regularly. Having certain things that I know set up my day right such as a healthy smoothie with seeds and green powder each morning, followed by a long walk seems to allow me to have time to think and plan my day ahead.

Can I say two things. I take an amazing liver supplement called de-liver-ance. The liver is involved in more than 500 key functions, and as a powerful natural detoxifier, it keeps my skin clear and it also gives me an impressive burst of energy.
And regular Pilates (3 days a week) at Zero Gravity Pilates. I particularly love Darren the dancer’s class as he really understands how the body moves.

Life will bring you many surprises and when one door closes it is true that a better one just might open.
