Stubborn belly fat is often the last to go and can affect your motivation and progress when it comes to weight loss. But now Dr MediSpa’s new non-invasive fat loss technology Emsculpt-NEO could be the answer to a flatter tummy
Whether we’re burning ourselves out at the gym or suppressing our appetites, most of us still struggle to shift that last bit of stubborn belly fat.
In my case, even being extremely active, working out regularly (approx three days a week) and eating super healthy still did not make me body-happy, or at least body-content.
There are many devices and treatments for fat reduction, most of which don’t work, have risks or are quite invasive and not for the faint hearted.
But equally, exhausting yourself in the gym seven days a week and restricting yourself to 800 calories a day also doesn’t seem like a whole heap of fun.
So what sort of technological interventions do work for stubborn fat loss?

What is EMSCULPT-NEO?
Dr MediSpa’s, EMSCULPT-NEO is the world’s first ground breaking, non-invasive technology that reshapes your body, via fat reduction and muscle building in one single applicator.
This revolutionary procedure simultaneously delivers heat using synchronised RF (radio-frequency) to dissolve the fat by 30 per cent and HIFEM+ (high intensity focused electromagnetic field) magnetic energy to increase muscle mass by 25 per cent, all in a single 30 minute treatment.
Of course I am not suggesting that a healthy diet and regular exercise isn’t great for fat loss and a healthy lifestyle, but I am a strong believer in giving myself a head start to fat loss when it comes to using intense technology that will sizzle that stubborn belly fat away in a way in which our bodies and minds never could.

Plus the treatment is also perfect for anyone who just wants more lean, sculpting definition. Also for those who just don’t have time to sweat at the gym for hours.
After speaking not only to the prolific Dr Munir Somji and the people behind the technology, I was convinced that this treatment will provide me with the difference I was looking for.
We call this fat reduction through neuromuscular stimulation and radio frequency-induced lipolysis, for increased blood flow, muscle growth and strengthening.

During the treatment…
You are asked to take off all of your jewellery and lie down comfortably, pull down your trousers and lift your top up. The therapist then applies the devise onto your lower stomach region and buckles you in, making sure it sit in the right place.
The therapist will then explain the procedure and the sensations you are about to experience. The sensation starts mildly to ease you into it. You feel a little tingling and then a little heat starts to come through.
The therapist increases the sensation based on how far you wish to go. The intensity goes all the way up to 100. Most patients can get up to 100 in their first session, which is strongly recommended.
At a 100 it feels as though your lower stomach muscles are having contracting. It can be uncomfortable but not painful. It really does feel like the most intense internal workout you have ever had. I kept thinking that there is now way I could never achieve this level of work-out intensity myself.
HIFEM+ is the most intensively researched technology used in non-invasive body shaping
In less than four minutes the temperature in subcutaneous fat reaches levels that cause apoptosis; damaging the fat cells permanently and slowly removing them from the body by flushing them out through the metabolic process.
The muscle temperature rises by several degrees similar to what a warm-up activity does before any workout, but by passing the brain limitations, HIFEM+ energy contracts the muscle fibres at intensities that are not humanly achievable during voluntary workout.
Your legs shake and twitch involuntary and this is also ok (it shows the machine is doing its job) you can even see your abs contracting underneath your skin. The heat sensation also rises but nothing ever feels uncomfortable and all is very tolerable.
When the process is over and the devise is removed you will see sweat and redness in the area which goes down in minutes – the look of an extreme workout, only you’ve been lying down comfortably instead.
Positive results show generally two to four weeks after the last session and continue to improve several weeks following the treatment.
With more than 30 scientific publications since 2018, HIFEM+ is the most intensively researched technology used in non-invasive body shaping. Indeed, seven new clinical studies showed EMSCULPT-NEO was consistent in eliminating fat and/or building muscle.
The before and after pictures prove just how amazing this new technology is. EMSCULPT-NEO treats any part of your body and usually the recommended treatment is a course of four with one week in-between treatments.
In a nutshell:
- Suitable for patients with BMI up to 35
- 2 therapies in 1
- FDA-cleared and CE medically marked
- Tech developed with over 300 R&D engineers
Prices start from a single session of £1000, with 4 sessions course being £3000.
I also recommended having the EMERALD Laser as a blasting finisher to the EMSCULPT-NEO treatment. Again, just lie down and let the 10, 532nm green lasers penetrate you from every angle.
EMERALD Laser is a safe, non-invasive, non-surgical fat loss treatment which shrinks fat cells in stubborn areas of the body. Patients lose an average of six inches over a course of treatment, with no downtime.
Prices start from £350 per session, with a course of 10 for £2900 and a course of 6 being £1800.
