Stress can take its toll on the body in several ways. Vikings actress and yoga teacher Maude Hirst, founder of Energy Rise  shows us natural breathing and finding a balanced state

Take a quick moment out of your day to follow this breathing technique and feel the tension lift from your shoulders.

Stress often goes hand in hand with life. But being in a constant state of stress can take a toll on our body and mind. Stress can suppress your immune system, mess with your digestive systems and can even increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.

When we are anxious we breath in our upper lungs with shallow, rapid breaths this is why you may experince a shortness of breath.

Natual breathing slows down your breathing rate and stimulates the ‘calming response.’  By breathing mindfully using your lower lungs you are able to calm your body and mind.

So whether you are standing up or sitting down comfortably take a quick minute out of your day to destress by clearing your mind and breathing deep.
