Last night’s Golden Globes were an extravaganza of fit women’s bodies – here are some of the secrets behind four of the red carpet’s hottest
Jennifer Lawrence, Winner for best actress in a comedy
Jennifer Lawrence, well known for being in the ultimate Hunger Games, and is a huge inspiration for us all with her strong athletic physique. The actress told Inquisitr magazine that she could ‘Never live on a diet, instead Dalton Wong [her personal trainer] has taught me how to eat, move and live a delicious but a healthy life.” So what does she do? Personal trainer Dalton Wong told the Daily Mail that, ‘She works hard but eats well’.
Wong’s new book ‘The FeelGood Plan’(£9.99) includes Lawrence’s eating plan and ways to exercise and unwind and explains why drinking red wine is ‘okay’ and that no food is ‘off limits’. Wong’s focus is on short 15 minute workouts and satisfying meals with healthy fats, protein and tonnes of fruits and vegetables.
When Cosmopolitan interviewed Lawrence about her love of pizza and her ‘greatest food invention, the Chilli pizza Sandwich’ she described, ‘A piece of pizza and you put chili in it – like Southern chili, with noodles – and then you put another piece of pizza, and then you eat it like a sandwich. And I was completely sober. Totally sober’. We love her for it.
Julia Louis Dreyfus, Nominee for best performance by an actress
Dreyfus, has already won three Emmy awards and is best known for her work on the comedy series Seinfeld.
In June 2013, the 48 year old told Health magazine that she likes to do anything that will get her heart moving, except bike riding and that she’s ‘never done anything more miserable’.
‘I take these classes where you get on the treadmill, then you do these things whilst on a BOSU ball [a balance ball that works your core] then you get back on the treadmill….’ She says.
Dreyfus also participates in outdoor activities such as running and hiking.
As for diet – well, within minutes of sitting down at Santa Monica coffee shop with her non-fat latte, she admits to ‘dumping two sugars in the cup’.
Kirsten Dunst, Nominee for best performance by an actress
Kirsten Dunst, who most recently starred in Fargo, admits to Hello magazine that she is low maintenance when keeping up appearances.
Dunst reveals that she goes to fitness classes in LA with her girlfriends and pays only sixteen dollars (cheap for LA) for sessions such as cardio barre and piloxing (a cross between Pilates, boxing and dance) and also does a dance based workout by trainer Tracy Anderson.
In an interview from Great Ideas magazine with Anderson said keeping yourself energised with regular treats is a good way to get yourself into exercise, especially in the winter season.
She says, ‘When you’re sluggish it’s okay to up your coffee a little bit. If you don’t work out to music, add music to your workout. It’s very energizing.’
Olivia Wilde, Winner for best performance an actress
After seeing Olivia Wilde at the Golden Globe awards looking more in shape than ever before, we can’t help but wonder, how did she do it? Lets not forget,at last year’s awards, Wilde was six months pregnant.
The actress, best known as PETA’S Sexiest Vegetarian celebrity of 2010, admitted to Health Celeb that not eating meat, doing yoga and taking a plant based diet keeps her looking and feeling, ‘More beautiful than ever after spending some time breathing.’
As well as personal goals, Wilde is also personally trained by Patrick Murphy. Murphy admitted to SELF Magazine that, ‘Olivia has a dancing background and moves with grace, but I knew that we needed to gain some muscle mass and strength, stamina and overall body balance and coordination.’
Murphy said he never repeats any of the routines he does with Wilde so she is always in for a surprise which shocks the body enough to create real change, though he admits jump lunges, power pushups and 5-10 minutes of cardio as a warm up are always included in Wilde’s routine.
