Fab at 47: Halle Berry’s body secrets

CBS premiered Halle Berry’s new TV series Extant last night – could she look any hotter?

The 47 year old, who gave birth to her second child 8 months ago, works hard to keep in shape for her roles and embraces her age.

Halle told InStyle magazine, ‘Don’t stress about your age or fight it, appreciate the young women who look like you once did, but don’t strive to be like them. You’re moving into a new phase of your life – embrace it.’halleberrymainpic

So how does she get that body? According to Shape, Halle follows the Harley Pasternak’s 5-Factor Fitness plan, which includes five minutes of each: warm-up, upper-body strength training, lower-body moves, core-training exercises and fat-burning cardio work.

Being a type-1 diabetic (also referred to as insulin-dependent diabetes), Halle keeps healthy by following a low-carb diet for diabetics that features plenty of vegetables, proteins and reduced sugar. She told Woman’s Day: ‘Because I’m diabetic, I totally changed my diet and workout regimen a few years ago. I don’t eat fried foods or refined sugar — only natural sugar in fruit and vegetables. And I don’t eat carbs a lot.’

Halle told Marie Claire how she manages her sugar intake: ‘I’m diabetic so I avoid sugar and that helps with anti-aging. I use Xylitol as a sugar substitute and give it to my daughter.  I strongly believe in talking about nutrition at an early age and setting a good example.’

As well as her amazing figure, Halle has a gorgeous glow. She told More: ‘I am very diligent about my skincare regimen. I always wash my face at day’s end and apply all my serums. I’m also careful about not too much alcohol. I allow myself maybe a couple of glasses of red wine a week. And absolutely no drugs.’
