And Selena Gomez hasn’t been the only superstar to hit headlines with a few words to her younger self. A few months back, Victoria Beckham stirred some attention for an honest, open and emotional letter that she wrote to herself for Vogue.

Beckham penned a letter to her 18 year old self. Her letter was charming, poignant and emotive and we laughed as we read the advice that she gave herself on how to ‘survive life in the spotlight’. Beckham discussed it all. From body image and crazy PVC outfits to falling in love and becoming a mum.

‘A word on school sports day: never wear platform heels and flares if you have to take part in the mothers’ race. And never believe another mum when she says she will stick with you at the back of the race. Because she won’t’ she wrote.

celebrate what you’ve got.

She also talks about the mistakes that she made when she was younger. Most notably she discusses having had breast surgery and how she regrets it – ‘I should probably say, don’t mess with your boobs. All those years I denied it – stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you’ve got.’

Her letter is hilarious and really struck a chord with us here. What would we say to our 18 year old selves? Would we be filled with regrets or thankful for the lives we’ve lead?

Healthista spoke to different women to find out exactly what they’d say to their 18 year old selves.
