Rick Hay says: ‘To help speed up weight loss what I want you to do first thing in the morning is to have some grapefruit or some lemon in a little bit of warm water, not hot boiling water just warm water. You can have half a grapefruit or a whole lemon or a combination of the two. Both liver and gallbladder tonics. The liver and the gallbladder together are really significant for fat metabolism, if they aren’t working properly it’s going to be harder for you to metabolise fat.  This can kick-start metabolism in the morning and help get digestion going. So we’re going to start each day with a little bit of warm water, grapefruit or lemon to get the gallbladder going.’
