A reader asks: is there anything I can do to increase my skins natural glow – or to fake it? Dermatologist Dr Stefanie Williams has advice
Choose a product containing a gentle exfoliant ingredient to remove dead skin cells, increase cell turnover and reduce dull skin. One of my favourite is Skinceutical’s Retexturing Activator £69.35. It contains 25 per cent Hydroxyethyl Urea/Aminosulfonic Acid with Kombuchka and Hyaluronic Acid to promote skin cell renewal and gently resurface the skin without irritation.
Prodducts containing alpha hydroxy acids such as glycolic acid are also exfoliating ingredients to boost skin glow. However, depending on their concentration they might be irritating to sensitive skin. Also make sure to always use a broad spectrum sunscreen everyday if you’re using glycolic acid products – you should do this anyway to keep your skin young looking and healthy!
