With celebrity clientèle such as Drew Barrymore, Olivia Wilde and Dita Von Teese, nutritionist Kimberly Snyder’s smoothie recipes have become famous as a quick route to A-list beauty and weight loss. 1. Glowing Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup filtered water or spring water
2 cups chopped spinach
1 cup chopped romaine
½ cup chopped celery
1 small pear
½ banana
1bs fresh lemon juice
Directions:
Add water, chopped spinach, chopped romaine and chopped celery to the blender. Starting the blender on a low speed, mix until smooth. Gradually move to higher speeds and add the pear, then the banana and lemon juice. Start with about 16 ounces, at a time. The remainder can be kept covered and cool for up to 3 days.
2. Rainforest Acai Smoothie
Ingredients:
3 ½ ounces of frozen acai berries
2 cups of unsweetened almond milk
½ tbs of raw cacao
1 banana
½ avocado (optional)
Directions:
Use a good blender to help blend the acai berries and almond milk at a low speed until you’ve broken down the acai berries. Move to higher speed. Once it is smooth, add the cacao and the stevia. Add avocado for a denser smoothie.
