Size matters when it comes to the female orgasm

New evidence has been found to suggest that the size of a woman’s clitoris can impact her ability to orgasm

The breakthrough could mean that women suffering from anorgasmia (the inability to have an orgasm) might some day get the treatment they need.

The study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to scan the pelvic area of 30 women with an average age of 32 years old. They found that in women who have orgasm problems, the clitoris is smaller, and located farther from the vagina.

Ten of the women tested said they rarely or had never achieved orgasm, while the rest reported normal experiences during sex.

Researchers believe the findings could have huge implications when treating those unable to orgasm, and may also help women stressed by their perceived levels of sexual dysfunction.

They wrote in their report: ‘Although these physical characteristics cannot be changed, understanding the physiology of the female sexual response advances knowledge (and) may highlight strategies for treatment of women distressed by sexual dysfunction.’
