Reboot body makeover challenge results are in – 29.5 cm lost in 12 weeks!

Caroline_HeadshotThat’s it, it’s all over! Our body blogger Caroline Williams has reached the end of her 12 week body makeover challenge. And she’s lost – drum roll, please! – just over a stone (seven kilos) and 29.5 centimetres (ten of those from her waist alone!)

‘My 12 week Reboot challenge has come to an end.  What a journey! I feel so happy that I got the opportunity to do this for 12 weeks with the wonderful support from John and Alli.  I have had my ups and downs but generally I feel so much better – more energized, stronger and fitter.

CAROLINE’S CLOSING STATS

table week 13

‘The food has been tasty and I have added quite a few new lovely recipes to my repertoire. I did miss coffee in the beginning but got over that pretty quickly. I have now started to allow myself the odd coffee when I am out and about, usually on the weekend which I really enjoy. I will not let it go back to three cups a day though, but will keep it as an occasional treat. One of my biggest food weaknesses is cheese, but I have basically not had any cheese at all for 12 weeks and don’t particularly miss it now so I will try to keep going with no or just little cheese in my diet.

‘I feel slightly nervous to be losing Alli’s support and the weekly weigh ins, but I have learnt so much about what to eat (and what not to!) so I should be okay carrying on with the plan on my own.

‘I will definitely try to keep up the level of exercise that I have been doing. It is quite amazing how different my body feels now compared to 12 weeks ago. I feel so much stronger which is a great feeling. I mostly notice it during my weekly Pilates classes. I can now do moves without too much effort that I really struggled with just a few months ago. It feels great to feel more in control of my body. Having mastered new exercises and feeling strong has probably been my most positive experience during the 12 week Reboot. I went in to it wanting to lose weight but actually the weight loss feels more like an extra bonus now and the way I feel in body and mind is the real achievement.

‘I increased the amount of exercise quite dramatically when I  started training with John, from about 2-3 runs per week to basically doing some sort of exercise now 5-6 days per week. I was a bit worried that my knees would  start giving me grief as I have felt them in the past when I have upped my training. I needn’t have worried though as I haven’t had any problems at all with my knees. We have done a lot of squats and lunges and other exercises that has helped build up the muscles around the knees which has helped me with the running. With the Royal Park half marathon coming up in October I have got a nice goal to keep training for.

‘What I will definitely take away with me from this experience is to stop doing ‘quick-fix’ fad diets. I would love for this to be my new way of living and not slip out of the habit. My longer term goal, say for the next six months is to lose another 12 kilos, and doing it slowly over this time will be so much better for me than trying to lose weight quickly just to put it back on again…
