What I want for Christmas – Healthista writer Parisa’s must-haves of the year

Still struggling with Christmas wishlist inspiration? This is what Healthista writer Parisa Hashempour is lusting after this festive season

Looking for gift inspiration? If you’re buying for me this Christmas, look no further.  Just kidding – but here is a line up of some seriously brilliant stuff that I’ve had my eye on all year long which is bound to provide ample inspo in your Christmas shopping shenanigans.

Lululemon Energy Bra

Energy-Bra-Lululemon-Parisa's-Christmas-Wish-list-by-healthista

I will admit, I’m a little bit obsessed with Lululemon, but what yoga loving, coconut latte drinking female isn’t? I’m especially excited about Lululemon’s new collaboration with Swiss textile house Forster Rohner. Not because I’m a particular fan of the twentieth-century embroidery house but mostly because the designs are out of this world. They give the illusion of being almost velvet to the touch but come in the same smooth lycra fabric that the brand is famous for. I MUST get my hands on this sports bra.

Lululemon Energy Bra is available for £45 from Lululemon here.

Green People SPF15 Day Solution

Green-People-day-solution-SPF15-Parisas-Christmas-wishlist-by-healthista

As much as I love tanning it up, one of my new year’s resolutions this year is to listen to every woman ever that regrets not piling on the SPF in her twenties. While I often inadvertently pick beauty products that contain SPF (my go-to is Georgio Armani Luminous Silk), consultant dermatologist Anjali Mahto recently discussed the topic in a Don’t Salt My Game podcast and insisted that we should all be putting SPF on underneath our makeup anyway. And while I may get told SPF15 isn’t enough, I’m lusting after Green People’s SPF solution in particular because I have dry, eczema prone skin and know from past experience that they are a brilliant brand for us sensitive skin folk.

Broad Strokes: 15 Women Who Made Art and Made History (in That Order)

Broad-Strokes-Bridget-Quinn,-women-who-made-history-and-art-broad-strokes-by-healthista

Wandering around a bookshop off Spitalfields market this summer, I came across this book and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I love the fun and feistiness of this book that jumps on the back of the feminist pop culture resurgence (all aboard!) The book records the stories of amazing female artists throughout history that have been excluded from the mainstream art canon and the illustrations are simply beautiful (making the book a stunning coffee table fixture). Broad Strokes showcases not only stories but images of a mixture of reproductions of the artist’s works and contemporary portraits of each artist by famous illustrator, Lisa Congdon.

Broad Strokes: 15 Women Who Made Art and Made History (in That Order) is available for £16.88 from Amazon here.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A1 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Bluetooth-speaker,-Parisa's-Christmas-wishlist-by-healthista

Okay, I know its very optimistic to put this on my wishlist seeing as the price point comes in at just under £200 but these Bluetooth speakers are EVERYTHING. Why? Because with no wires and a 24-hour battery life they’re perfect for camping and country walking with a tune on the go (sorry yes, I am one of those noise polluting people whenever I venture out to the countryside). It has a leather carry strap which makes it easy to take on your wanders (or to just lug into the next room at your party), not to mention it’s very pretty to look at.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A1 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is available for £199 from John Lewis here.

kikki.K 2018 Daily Diary: Time is now

2019 diary

I’m the kind of person that hates digital diaries – everything needs to be written down, I really don’t want to be staring at a screen any more than I need to. And if a diary is going to be in my handbag for an entire year then it has to be pretty to look at – this 2018 diary makes the list simply because the kikki.K products are so beautiful (however I am prone to handbag spillages so the white might be a little impractical) – definitely worth the splurge.

kikki.K 2019 Daily Diary: Time is now is available for £18 from John Lewis here.

Better You Boost Vitamin B12 Oral Spray

b12-vitamin-spray,-Parisa's-christmas-wishlist-by-healthista

This autumn, I finally managed to take the plunge and ditch meat in my diet for good (and I’ve only slipped up twice). While I’m enjoying all of the veggie dishes I’ve been forced to discover, I am aware that I need to make wiser food choices to ensure that I’m getting the right vitamins. While it’s a bigger problem for vegans, vitamin B12 deficiencies can occur in veggie folk and I don’t want to take any chances. I love that the Better You sprays are so easy to use, call me lazy but it feels like so much more effort to run to the kitchen for a drink to swallow a capsule with which is why this handy handbag sized bottle has made it onto my Christmas wish list.

Better You Boost Vitamin B12 Oral Spray is available for £11.95 from the Healthista shop here.

Oskia Bedtime Boost

Oskia bedtime beauty boost, Abigail James My Natural Beauty Essentials by healthista Christmas wishlist

Ever since an interview with celebrity facialist Abigail James earlier this year (about her favourite natural beauty products), I’ve been desperate to get my mitts on this night cream from vegan beauty brand Oskia. I suffer from seriously dry skin and so any cream that offers hydration warrants a trial but this product appeals to me in particular as it promises a lightweight consistency that won’t go greasy and make you stick to your pillow (nothing worse). Also, I have to admit I’m pretty impressed with the ingredients list which boasts vitamins A, B3 and E as well as a fancy ingredient called Swiss Apple Stem Cells (which promise to plump up and rejuvenate your skin).

Oskia Bedtime Boost is available from Cult Beauty for £78 here.

Raw Halo Mylk + Pink Salt Sharing Bar

raw-halo-mylk-and-salt-vegan-chocolate-bar,-Parisa's-Christmas-Wishlist-by-healthista

I didn’t think I’d ever say this but I might be prepared to swap this Raw Halo vegan chocolate bar for the routine Terry’s Chocolate Orange in my stocking this Christmas. Made with raw cacao cashew nut butter, this sweet and savoury chocolate treat has caused a serious ruckus in Healthista HQ. You can never have enough of this stuff, bring it on Santa.

Raw Halo Mylk + Pink Salt Sharing Bar is available for £3.99 from the Healthista shop here.

Curaprox Hydrosonic Black is White: The Ultimate Sonic Toothbrush

Hydrosonic-toothbrush-and-paste,-Parisa's-Christmas-wish-list-by--healthista

Okay maybe I’m just a sucker for a gimmick but I am seriously drawn to this brand and have been lusting after these products for a while now. The set comes with both brush and paste and charcoal-touting brands promise that the key ingredient will whiten up your teeth in a jiffy by using activated carbon that won’t harm them (this has my sensitive teeth screaming, ‘yes please!’). The brand says that the toothbrush uses up to 42,000 strokes per minute and while I’m not educated on the ins and outs of orthodontic products, I find that number pretty impressive.

Curaprox Hydrosonic Black is White: The Ultimate Sonic Toothbrush is available for £199 from Curaprox here.

Lonely Lingerie Lena Softcup Bra

Lonely-Lingerie-red-bra,-Parisa's-Christmas-wish-list-by-healthista

I came across this brand on Instagram and instantly fell in love. Not only is their underwear range a collection of understated lacey loveliness but they have fostered a community of Instagrammers that share their belief in body positivity. The company has created underwear for women, with women in mind and rather than produce images designed with the male gaze in mind, models on the website stick a middle finger up to typical standards of beauty. Some women are much larger in size than we tend to see from typical lingerie brands and others have hair in places society typically doesn’t expect women to. All of that aside, who wouldn’t want this lacey red number?

Lonely Lingerie Lena Softcup Bra is available for £45 from Lonely Lingerie here.
