  1. Dutch braids

These milkmaid style braids are sleek and cool and have recently bounced back into fashion thanks to celebs such as the Kardashian clan. Kylie Jenner showed off her dutch braids in a recent Instagram photo where she posed looking sexy and sporty to model Puma‘s new ‘Forever Fierce’ line which is coming out soon. She completed her look with these long, dark, glossy looking braids. This hair style is perfect for all those gym lovers that need a great looking style that they can sweat in. Pieces of hair pulled out around the face add texture and framing so don’t worry about your hair coming undone throughout the day.

2. Fishtail braid

This was the style that Reymond decided to give me and another beautiful braid that is hitting the spotlights right now. Why? Because it is intricate and complex in design but looks impressive once you’ve mastered it.

Stylist Reymond explains that the secret to any fishtail braid is to go back over the braid and undo it slightly afterwards to add texture. Reymond says that in his home country of France they compare hair in this style to corn. ‘Keep it messy’ he told me with a smile. Celebs such as Chrissy Teigen rock this look effortlessly, looking chic while off-duty.

3. Grecian Chic

This was the braided up-do that Reymond recommended for the party season. It’s especially popular with his customers on a Friday night before a special event. Celebs such as Scarlett Johansson, Alexa Chung and Amber Heard have been spotted with this style, so start practicing now so that you’re ready for your Christmas party. The style is natural and romantic and here, Heard’s stylist has added a twist to the classic fishtail braid by doubling it over, teasing it out and transforming it into an intricate up-do.

4 mistakes you’re probably making with your hair

Hair stylist Lucas Reymond explains

1. You’re using the wrong product

Make sure that you aren’t using products with damaging ingredients. Cheap shampoos are full of sulphates, these are the ingredients used to make the shampoo lather. But they’re the same ingredients used in household cleaning products. Which means they are toxic for your scalp and hair. Not only can they leave you with dry hair and a dry scalp but they also make your hair colour fade faster and can even result in hair loss. look for sulphate-free shampoos in particular.

2. You’re not using a heat protector

This was Reymond’s top tip for maintaining your hair and keeping lovely locks. Heat protectors add moisture and form a protective layer over your hair. They reduce frizz and leave your hair healthy and full of shine.

3. You don’t trim your hair enough

Keep on top of your trips to the salon, especially if you often use heat on your hair or if you tend to wear it down. Keeping it trimmed improves the look and feel of your hair, meaning less flyaway hair and breakage. Regular hair cuts can even leave your hair looking thicker and fuller.

4. You don’t give it enough treats

Reymond recommends treating your hair to a deep conditioner at least once a month. Deep conditioning gives your hair a nourishing nudge, providing it with the nutrients it needs to stay happy and hydrated. Reymond recommends using the Up, up and away feather light Duck + Dry shampoo and conditioner.
