Could having an affair help you lose weight?

TV health personality, Steve Miller has claimed that the reason people are overweight is due to their dead-end relationships. The secret to losing weight? Cheating on your other half

Weight-loss expert Steve Miller has claimed that most obese people are comfort eating because they’re in dead-end relationships. He claims that the majority of overweight people are either single or unable to attract a partner or they’re stuck in a stale, sexless relationship. The fix? No, it’s not diet or exercise, according to the health guru it’s cheating on your partner.

The solution isn’t even going to couple’s therapy. The health guru instead suggests cheating on your partner might just be the cure. But not just with anyone. Have an affair with a slim person. And it seems that Britons might be one step ahead of Miller, according to a survey commissioned by an affairs website and Italy’s answer to Ashley Madison, 45 percent of British men admit to straying from their significant other at least once and 21 percent of women have said the same.

have an affair and take steps to end a dead relationship for the sake of becoming fat-free

According to the TV health pundit, an affair will not only help people to lose weight but also to regain their self-esteem and health. He warns against the many diseases that are associated with being obese (though he seems somewhat less concerned about STDs).

Miller is a hypnotherapist and the host of Fat Families on Sky1 and is known for his controversial, no-nonsense methods of helping people to lose weight. He’s causing a stir once more by calling on overweight people to explore the benefits of cheating on their partners. ‘I am calling on the people of Britain to get ballsy, have an affair and take steps to end a dead relationship for the sake of becoming fat-free,’ says Miller.

He also claims many obese people don’t even realise they are in dangerous relationships with ‘feeders’ who encourage them to eat fatty junk food in a bid to make them gain even more weight. He says many of these so-called feeders are actually chronically insecure themselves and secretly want their partners to become obese so they become more dependent upon them. ‘Yes the dreary partner you are with is a killer in disguise because feeding yourself to create comfort will probably trigger cancer, stroke and heart disease,’ he insists. ‘Partners can also become feeders because they are controlling bullies living in fear we may leave them for someone else.’

Miller claims a heated affair could fill the void that causes us to binge

He appears to feel that a heated affair could fill the void that causes us to binge and says ‘Don’t feel guilty for having an affair, go create excitement with a new lover and see yourself depending less on food for comfort.’

In fact, it isn’t just an affair that he is advocating but suggests that you if you’re overweight you should drop your partner altogether, ‘tell the feeder you live with that it’s over immediately and make arrangements to leave them.’

But most importantly of all, remember to be picky. You don’t want to end up overweight again, ‘be choosy as you move on and find new love. If they are fat then beware as they will probably be a feeder. Instead, seek out the slim alternative.’
